I created two engaging cartoons—one featuring a dog and the other a cat—to promote the new Jasper pet toothbrush. However, the client was curious if a photograph of the actual animal would capture customers’ attention more effectively.
To address this, I designed both options and conducted several A/B tests on the packaging of our toothpaste product. The results were clear: both version 1, which used actual photographs, and version 2, showcasing cartoon illustrations of pets, received positive feedback from consumers. However, the findings revealed that the illustrations created a more inviting and visually appealing design.
By embracing this illustrative approach, we significantly strengthened our connection with the target audience and effectively communicated a sense of warmth and friendliness that resonates with pet enthusiasts.
